Land Rover has been on the luxury SUV and crossover market for quite some time now. For example, the Evoque model has been running since 2012 and was a popular vehicle from the start. The exterior design and wonderfully stylish and comfortable interior have always appealed to a certain type of public. We are sure they are going to love the 2017 Range Rover Evoque, because it’s simply bigger, better and ready for action!
For people who are fond of driving with a bit of wind wind through their hair, 2017 will also bring the Range Rover Evoque Convertible.
The exterior of the Land Rover 2017 Range Rover Evoque will not differ wildly from the 2016 edition. In that model year the headlights were notably updated. Other tweaked features were the front bumper, larger air intakes and the grille. That one got horizontal bars and a fine mesh-like pattern on the standard models. In addition, higher trims even got a hexagonal, finer meshed grille. The front bumper on the 2017 model is a bit more toned down, which adds to the modern look.
Furthermore, for 2017 the Evoque is available in a new trim level named Graphite Design Pack. The 20 inch wheels come with a lovely silver grey colour. All the while, the front grille will be black and grey. A different shade of black on the roof and black exhausts make this trim tall, dark and handsome.
In 2017 four more colours are available for the 2017 Range Rover Evoque. This brings the total colour option to 18. Finally, there is the Evoque Ember edition, a limited edition combining red and black as the main exterior and interior colours.
Land Rover kept the interior styling minimalistic. There is an updated 8 or 10 inch LCD-screen at the top of the center console with some buttons underneath it. The rest of the useful buttons are found on the steering wheel where they are perfectly reachable by the driver. Furthermore, the whole interior features a heavy stitching, a detail Land Rover is known for.
Automatic transmission versions of the 2017 Range Rover Evoque don’t come with a stick shift, but with a rotary gear knob. This adds a new flavour to automotive interior designing and was a great architectural idea by whoever thought of it.
Standard on the 2017 Evoque is ambient lighting. On the HSE dynamic trims, this includes multiple colours that can be chosen through the infotainment system.
The standard sound system includes eight speakers throughout the cabin. Finally, the higher trims feature a Meridian sound system with 17 speakers.
For the U.S. the available engine is going to be a 2.0 liter intercooled and turbocharged gasoline fueled four cylinder with direct injection. As a result, horse power lies at 240. It is four wheel driven and has a nine speed automatic transmission. This engine is also available in Europe.
Besides the gasoline-fueled engine, Europeans can also choose two types of diesel engines for their 2017 Range Rover Evoque. They are both 2.0 liter turbo diesels, but one can make 150 horsepower, the other one can make 180 horsepower. They are both available with automatic transmission, as well as manual transmission. In conclusion, four wheel drive is standard.
Standard safety features on the lowest trim of the 2017 Evoque are: Electronic Stability Control and Roll Stability Control. Also, ABS And Driveline Traction Control, Side Impact Beams, InControl Protect Emergency S.O.S, Airbag occupancy sensor and a back-up camera.
Optional safety features are: blind spot sensor, automated parking sensors, forward collision and rear collision warning, lane keeping assist, lane departure warning, front-, left- and right side camera.
The infotainment system features an SD Navigation System with Voice Control and Speed compensated volume control. Optional entertainment features are: a 10 inch touch screen and 2 LCD Monitors in the front. Also, there’s navigation and real time traffic display.
