The emperor of sports supercars is back. After selling every Veyron model that they released, Bugatti still wanted to step it up a notch and created the 2018 Chiron. What many deemed as virtually impossible, producing a better car than the Veyron, Bugatti has done. The Veyron did have a few lesser points, like the off-set driving position and heavy curb-weight. With the Chiron, these things shouldn’t be an issue anymore. Furthermore, the design is stunning as ever and the 2018 Bugatti Chiron promises to be a true supercar in every aspect imaginable.
The Chiron can definitely be seen as the Veyron’s little brother in terms of appearance. The overall curvy shape is alike and the remarkably small Bugatti grille is also present. The windshield goes up almost horizontally before flowing into the roof. The Chiron will be superlow and driving over a speedbump is going to be a real challenge, though this car is obviously not made for speed limits.
The Chiron’s design is more aerodynamic than the Veyron, resulting in an extra 18 mph (28 kph) on the top speed.
Striking are the large air vents on both sides of the car doors. These are not so much put there as an aesthetic quality, but are downright indispensable. The Chiron’s engine is so enormous it needs all the air it can get to turn without blowing itself up.
The front wheels will have 20 inch rims and the rear wheel rims will be 21 inch. The rear tires are going to be 425 mm wide to be able to carry the top heavy engine and are the widest tires that have ever been put on a street-legal vehicle!
The front brake discs are 400 mm wide, and the rear brake discs 420 mm. As much as this car can accelerate, it might need to stop as well, s that’s what these are for.
On the front, the Chiron will have four LED-lamps on each side and on the rear there will be one long red LED-lighted line for illumination.
As mentioned before, Bugatti is going to fix the issue of the Veyron’s off-set driving position. Furthermore, the gauges will be redesigned with an analog speedometer at the center. The speedometer goes up to 312 mph (500 kph).
The larger windshield expands the outward vision that the driver will have by meters. The transmission stick will be repositioned for better reachability and ergonomics.
The 2018 Bugatti Chiron will probably be updated in terms of luxury in the cabin. The Veyron was already very luxurious and comfortable, but releasing a supercar that costs over $2,000,000 asks for being better than the last in every aspect.
Now to the most important part of his car, the engine. What to expect from the Chiron? The fastest person vehicle of this moment is Hennessey’s 270 mph (435 kph) Venom GT. The 2018 Bugatti Chiron will most certainly top that.
The 8.0-liter W-16 engine that we already know of the Veyron will be directly fuel-injected on the 2018 Bugatti Chiron and the turbo boost pressure is going to be increased. Moreover, two of its four turbos will be replaced with electronic turbos, prompted by electric motors instead of exhaust gas, resulting in immediate boost on command. All these alterations have to make the 1200 horsepower engine a 1500 horsepower engine.
To maintain the engine’s health and to make sure it doesn’t blow up from overheating, fifteen watercooling elements have been put in the car.
60 miles (100 km) will be hit in 2.2 seconds and top speed will be around 286 mph (460 kph). The 2018 Bugatti Chiron will obviously be All Wheel Driven.
There is no doubt that the new Bugatti Chiron will be faster than its predecessor with 300 extra horsepower!
